Qualifications

  • DipPFS (Diploma in Financial Planning)

    This level 4 diploma meets the FCA’s qualification requirements for retail investment advisers, demonstrating core technical knowledge and financial planning capabilities across six core areas.

  • CII Level 4 Award in Pensions Update

    This single unit qualification develops and tests knowledge of pension reforms and how they impact at-retirement advice.

  • FPC (Financial Planning Certificate)

    A recognition offered by the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom. Individuals who hold this qualification have satisfied coursework and testing requirements set by the organisation.

  • Certificate in Life and Pensions

    The life and pensions route builds knowledge and understanding of the sector’s role and its activities. It considers important customer needs, solutions and products, and how individuals and organisations work within the regulatory and legislative environment.

  • AFPC (Advanced Financial Planning Certificate)

    In order to have completed this qualification, individuals were required to obtain three units. These could have been selected from any combination of the available units at that time but must have included the compulsory G10 unit - Taxation and Trusts.

When Shaun’s at work

Shaun joined PIA in 2020 having started his financial services career with Guardian Royal Exchange back in 1980.

His main areas of financial expertise centre around pre- and post-retirement planning, tax-efficient investment planning, corporate protection across all markets and providing personal protection advice.

When Shaun’s at home

Shaun is a real sportsman, being a single-figure golf handicapper and long since retired footballer. For many years, he also played cricket in the Staffs Clubs Championship and Birmingham League. Beyond sports, he enjoys spending quality time with family, attending the theatre, and exploring National Trust walks.
