Qualifications

  • FP1 (Financial Services and their Regulation)

    Assesses an understanding of the financial services industry, including regulation and legislation.

  • FP2 (Protection, Savings and Investment)

    Assesses an understanding of protection, savings and investment products.

  • FP3 (Identifying and Satisfying Client Needs)

    Assesses an understanding of conducting a fact-find, assessing the client’s needs, and recommending specific (appropriate) financial products to meet those needs.

  • FPC (Financial Planning Certificate)

    A recognition offered by the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom. Individuals who hold this qualification have satisfied coursework and testing requirements set by the organisation.

  • FA1 (Life Office Administration)

    This examination provides the essential knowledge and skills needed by those working in, or starting a career in, life office administration and is ideal for operational or administrative staff working in the life and pensions sector.

When Mary’s at work

Mary has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, having worked with organisations such as Bank of Scotland, Standard Life, and two independent financial advisers. Her role involves handling queries from advisers and clients, whether via phone, email, or in meetings, and she enjoys daily interaction with clients to ensure their needs are met.

When Mary’s at home

Mary is married with one son, a stepson, and a grandchild. She has lived in England since 1989, having grown up in the Outer Hebrides before moving to the mainland at the age of 21. She enjoys holidays and caravanning in her spare time.
